I am trying to help an amateur basketball team get an investor, how can i do so? where is a good place to look

$400K is needed, we have an investor for $100K

where is the best place to find large investors?

There are lots of large investors and they are not hard to find. What's hard is finding someone who's willing to risk money on an endeavor that they might not understand very well.

I have an idea but it's a long shot and will require some effort. Might not a professional basketball player be interested in such a thing, and able to evaluate its potential? I can think of two ways to reach them (there are probably others, maybe better ones).

First, find out what sports magazines are geared to pro players. I'm not talking Sports Illustrated here, but something the pros would read. Place a classified ad in 1-2 of these.

Second, do up a one-page writeup on your amateur team, with real quality writing and graphics, not too wordy. Send it to all of the professional team managers and ask them to post it in the locker room or other relevant place.

As I said, it's a long shot but might give you some other ideas.

Best of success.
