What is a target investor?

Years ago, advertisers had "target consumers" that they kept records on of how they spent their money. When certain target consumers bought x y or z, the price was lowered on that product to attract new buyers. Is there such a thing as a target investor with regards to stocks and other investment vehicles?

The big guys, the fed etc, can track your every move. If they want to use you as a target investor, they can destroy the market while you try to get in, not necessarily because they want to get to you, but because you are a key ingredient point of entry that they feel is important to control. They have to have something to start from.

With regard to lowering the price of stocks, no. Stock price is determined by supply and demand.

With regard to extra services, fees, or benefits, yes. I have actually received mail from companies offering me deals better than their general advertised offers.

Also, many companies track your Internet habits and will try to tailor advertisements to your interests.
