Which stock would you advise an investor to invest in in the uk?

investor in the uk would like advise on what stock to invest in and why?

I'd go with Unilever..(UN)...they handle the basic needs of the consumer...good investment in " uncertain" times, plus they pay almost 5% in a dividend. So you'd be getting at least a good " bank-rate" even if the business does nothing for the rest of the year.... it's at about $ 31.00 now...could easily be 39/40 if markets don't tumble... 40+ if the year gets better.

Depends.. Are you looking to invest in an aggressive stock or one that is more stable?

Lloyds of London. Almost 8% yield, stable company, just raised the dividend, not in the subprime mess to any degree, currently stock price is low so a good chance of capitol gain.

Depends on how risky you want to be.You could give a shot to the small oil service company-Wellstream PLC.
