Value investor?

I am a japanese investor living in japan.
By the way, are there any website or blog treating about value investing? If possible it cluding about Japanese stock.

Your English is better than mine.

I can give you a few easy rules to go by although they are not all inclusive and also can give incorrect results because they are all based on the current situation and future projections based on historic results.

1. a p/e ratio of less than 20
2. a debt/equity ratio of less than 0.5
3. a price/book ratio of less than 2
4. revenue greater than 1,000,000,000 or about 100 billion yen. Small cap stocks are not for value investing.
5. must have a 10 year history of earnings.
6. must pay at least a 2% dividend

These are just simple rules, but if you find a stock that fits them you probably have a decent value.

You would be surprised how few stocks meet these criteria. In the U S markets fewer than 150 out of 7000.

I might mention that Canon is one of them. It is traded in the U S also.

Start by reading
The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham

then read financial magazines.

Don't worry about US stocks or Japanese stocks. Just learn about investing and how to find value. Then apply what you have learned to the market of your choice.
