Is buying exxon (xom), microsoft (msft), apple (aapl), and walmart (wmt) stock a good idea? |
i want to buy stocks for a long-term investment for my ira and not have to always worry about checking on them, i want stocks that in the long run pay off. i'm talking like 10-20+ years. I've always thought exxon stock is a good stock to have because you know they will never go out of business. they may get bought out, but they will never go out of business. I don't have that feeling with computer companies though. Walmart, I would be leary of that due to their reputation. That is my two cents. i hope exxon goes down and they can make electric cars pretty soon. but i think it would be a sound investment for 5-10 years. Just be sure that you buy low and sell high. |
