What is a good long term low risk investment? |
long term meaning 20 years I have $9000 to work woth many thanks to all that answer key words long term 20 year low risk -- i would either ladder cds or but in bonds!!! depends on what type of return you are trying to achieve. But I would suggest that you deposit the money in a CD or buy Bonds for lowest risk. If you wanted to be in the stock market, you could buy a Total Market ETF which would expose you to thousands of stocks without the risk of just one sector. It would also limit the amount of fees you would be charged. Good Luck! Roth IRA I will second the Roth IRA. Now that it's 2008, if you are married, you can contribute up to $6,000 each. So your entire 9k could go into the "tax-free forever" category (gotta love that Senator Roth!) |
