What is the best long term growth investment I can make with $4700?

start a small installation/building team of highschool/college age work horses. price jobs, pay them a fraction. theyll be happy to get work.

I would buy silver. Seriously. I call myself "silver" because I collect it.

Silver is coming out of a dive that started in the 14th century. It's lowest point was in 1992. It lags behind the prices of other precious metals. At this point, world supplies are depleted. At the same time, there is steady demand, and new technologies are coming that require silver.

offer the least for something that you know well enough to re sell.

or .. install $4700 worth of solar panels on your home and watch the meter go backward's when you un-plug everything in your house.. eventually you will get free electricity.. thus saving money .

Stocks are the best long term investment, over 9% a year average, it beats CD's in every 20 year period; Silver is not a growth investment, it's an inflation hedge. Even if you want to play it safer, you can buy an ETF of a Market Index.
