Apple stock. Good long term investment? |
Yay or nay? Apple (APPL) is a great stock to invest in for the long-term. However, for the short-term that's a different story. The DOW has hit a record close in the 10 of the past 14 trading sessions. Unless we see more of the average investor in this bull market, the DOW might regress to the lower portion of its range. Hopefully it will do that before Christmas so that we can see a nice "Santa Claus Rally." I realize that Apple is traded on the Nasdaq, but the major indices tend to follow the upward and downward swings of the DOW. Getting back to Apple: Much of Apple's growth has been attributed to its blockbuster iPod. It has continued to stun investors with new products, but it hasn't done so recently. It needs to keep coming out with new products similar to the video iPod to keep investors coming back for more. I believe it will do so and that's why I consider it a good long-term investment. Maybe the stock will split, you never know. Yay. It's too risky, and depends only in the ipod and the mac, you should own it but also other quality stocks... of course, check out how beautiful thier mountain is over the past 5 years |

Open an account at a Credit Union (usually takes $25), and no matter what happens put some money in that account every week, month or payday. This will give you a nest egg ... The long-term average returns for the stock market average about 7% to 8% per year. There will be times, such as 9/11 that will cause the stock market to tumble.
