What investment is best for low risk and high rate of return and liquidity? Large amout of $100,000+.?

If you want low risk, you are not going to have a real high rate of return. For low risk investments, consider the Vanguard Prime Money Market Fund with a current compound yield of ~4.78% APR. https://flagship.vanguard.com/VGApp/hnw/...

If you are in a high tax bracket you may prefer their tax exempt money market funds: https://flagship.vanguard.com/VGApp/hnw/...

Sometimes other institutions will have a higher teaser rate, but Vanguard tends to have the highest yields I've found over the long run. (Vanguard money markets are not FDIC insured, however.)

ING and HSBC often have rates close to Vanguard, and most of their products are FDIC insured. Bankrate.com provides links to CD's with high interest rates. You can check these at the following links: http://home.ingdirect.com/ http://www.us.hsbc.com/1/2/3/personal/sa... http://www.bankrate.com/

(If you are investing for a long period of time and are willing to accept some volatility, you should consider putting some of your money into no-load low-expense mutual funds. These are not guaranteed, but over the long run produce much higher returns.)

u.s. treasury bills

Low Risk = You will not get a high return no matter how much money you have to invest. It depends on your time horizon.
It is a trade off.

Low Risk = Money Market, t-bills, commercial paper, etc.

High Risk = Stocks

Medium Risk = Bonds

Haha, when you find out, be sure to tell me!

How long do you plan on investing this money? The stock market will be profitable over 10 years almost guarantee, and it is liquid cause you can pull it out at any time, but there is no guarantee it will be profitable at any given time. I say, go with stocks!

I don't know many, I'm only 13. But how about real estate?

houses are cheap now, buy one and rent it out

You cannot get high return and low risk, as other answers indicate. Pick a low fee money market fund like Vanguard Prime Money Market and you will get low risk and high liquidity with a decent (for a money market) return.

CDs are the highest rate with pretty easy liquidity. Stick with 3 mo. or 6 mo CDs. But remember you are only FDIC insured for $100k per bank, so spread it out some.

You know what....I would look at Municipal Bonds!
Look into seeing if there are any municipal bonds in your State, as there usually are. The treat here is they are generally higher than that of the US Treasury Bonds, but Treasury Bonds are federally taxed deferred. If your local state has a state income tax, you would owe them for any interest from the US Treasury Bonds.
With Municipal Bonds, you generally owe no taxes to anyone...which is rather nice. Just keep all that money recycling in your account.
Hope this helps.

It has to be an industry where a professional is looking for setting up or expanding his business. It is always better to decide on the rate of return you expect if it is more than the interest you would have to pay if you borrowed this money the investment is worth. If you have clear ideas on amount you wish to invest and return you expect i may help.

Make overseas investment.
You will get a 13% rate of interest in Belarusian banks. NO RISK AT ALL because all deposits are state secured.
No risk and high rate of return and liquidity.
Or lend your money privately to Belarusian entrepreneurs who will pay you over 50% interest per year. Very low risk and high rate of return .

Good luck!
