Despite having very little funding and regardless of the fact that the worlds richest men would have paid any price to take it from him . And how did he keep control when his invention was altered beyond recognition into what is todays home computer ? Bill Gates didn't "invent" the computer (transistors, computer chips, hard drive, RAM, all invented by others....the transistor was invented 10 years before Gates was born, think lassie!); nor any landmark piece of software (Apple invented the graphical user interface...Gates stole that idea for Windows).....the other guys have done the work....Bill Gates marketed his company's versions of others' ideas excellently; bought patents; bought out competition/took them to court.....if Steve Jobs from Apple had marketed his ideas the way Gates has, you would not know the name Microsoft. It would be a little, niche company!
One reason "the rich men in suits" didn't buy Gates' ideas up for tempting, small sums in the past, and preclude his becoming a billionnaire....well just look at the photo he kept control by taking anyone who was remotely a danger to his company sales to court full stop. He hold the monopoly on this sort of thing :| |
