I dont have an overdraft but how come...?

I transfered funds into my savings account leaving 拢7 in my current account... i then tried to top up my phone using my debit card... i managed to top it up 拢10

now my statement sayd 'nil' how did it manage to work if i didnt have enough money in my account and i DO NOT have an overdraft?

Because instead of refusing the payment like they should, they have let you go overdrawn so they can charge you a fee. I would put in a complaint.

With my account they allow me 拢200 overdraft 'no charges'
if I repay or put an amout to cover it within 5 working days.
Yours will perhaps show on your next statement, see your bank.

You should accept responsibility for your own actions and know what's in your bank account, or accept the consequences.

My bank charges 50p a day for overdrafts now, when before responsible customers who arraged their overdrafts paid pennies in interest. That's not fair, there should be benefits to being sensible and responsible.
