Job with a startup, how much equity? |
I'm thinking of taking a job with a web startup company. Sorry, I should have been more clear. It sounds like you'd basically be the CIO of the company. If it was me, I'd ask to review the business plan and ask for something that sounds monetarily reasonable based on the plan. Equity might mean you could get a lump sum with a quick sale or it could mean that you start getting small dividend checks if the primary owner wants to hang onto it (and plans to pay a dividend to themself). |
