What is the best way to find a home-based job without being exploited by online advertizers?

I have tried as hard as I can to find a home based job, without having to spend any money as I believe it isn't right for someone to pay for a job. So, the last website that I tried, I was asked to pay $50 which is kind of hard for me. I want a job on the internet so I can manage to fund my education. I hope to study in Canada for software engineering. My current job is not well paying, I barely get enough to survive on. In case there is no satsfactory answer, someone out there can help me to find possible other ways.

Don't even bother. All you are going to find is scams on the Internet.

Maybe you should try "affiliates programs". You only need a website or blog with traffic to promote companies or products to receive commissions for every sale you make. A good example can be "UK health affiliate program". Read more here:

I understand your problem, however, there is a distinct difference in having a JOB and having a home based business.

A JOB is something you apply for, interview, get hired and then get paid an hourly wage or by the project. With some companies you have set hours, others you work your own hours.

I need to know what country you are in before I make any recommendations of JOBS available as VIRTUAL REPS. And, YES, you are right.... NO ONE should be paying anyone to have a JOB. That's kind of backwards and those are the ones that are scams.

A home based business is totally different from a JOB. The advantages are that, unlike a traditional business where you would need a building for, employees, liability insurance, bookkeepers, utility bills, etc ... with a home based business you do not have that same overhead.

Just as a traditional business requires an initial investment, so too does a home based one, but cost is far lower. There are also great tax advantages in having a home based business.

However, on the down side, having a home based business WILL NOT make you instantly rich and those claiming it will are not telling you the truth. Having a home based business takes some time to build; however on the UP side if you build it right, the income from a home based business can be significantly better than any JOB and more secure because you do not need to worry about job security, etc.

I wrote a blog about advice for working from home. You can find a link to it in my profile here on answers in the second paragraph. It is all generic information and will give you some ideas on how to look for something, how to judge whether it is a legit offering, some things to avoid, how to do your research, etc. It IS NOT a sales promotion.

As far as making other suggestions, again, we really need to know where you are located. Without knowing that information, people are only going to be spamming you with their 'deal'. Many people don't care where you are or what you really need, they just want to advertise their 'program' and hope to get you signed up.

Feel free to contact me here through answers if I can help you any further.
