Need help selling beach front Caribbean property!?

My wife and I bought a beach front property on a small Caribbean island off the coast of Honduras and now (due to some bad investments) we are forced to sell. I allowed my wife to handle the selling of the land and she signed a contract with a real estate agent on the island to sell our property. I don't think the agent is very good at all, but we have a contract with her. What can I do now to help the selling of the property? We bought it because it's not far from Florida and it wouldn't cost us very much to visit our children once we retired. Right now it only cost 500 for a round trip ticket.. We loved the idea of being able to retire to a tropical island and not have to spend an enormous amount of money to live there.. Unfortunately our dreams have been seriously sidetracked so we are being forced to sell.. I don't want to wait more than a year to sell... so how can we speed up the process??? Help!

Sorry to hear your dissappointment. I'm actually interested in buying some beachfront property but that's a hella lot more land than I would need.
