What career can I go into to make a good living?

I was listening to this show on investments and a guy called in saying he makes 9K per week. Other people, pretty young too, called in with similar type or more salaries. I thought, wow, I wonder what kind of work they're in. I know doctors and THEY don't make cash like that. Who can I get a job working for to make that kind of money.

Go into medicine of some sort but not a doctor

Hi,

Wealth is creating by business, not by a job.

Yes there are plenty of people working jobs and getting big salaries but they normally surrender 80+ hours a week plus truckloads of stress. And if they lose their job (which is almost guaranteed these days) the money disappears.

You might be looking for an alternative to that.

Regardless of the type of business you are starting, there are some fundamentals that are vital for your success.

Remember, every dollar you ever make will come from someone else's pocket - and they will be as reluctant to give it to you, as you would be to give it to them.

Money is what you get when you add value to someone else. If you consistently add high value to a large number of people, you will make a great deal of money.

If you try to do it by other means you won't.

Yes there are always examples of con artists etc but their day always comes! They run out of people to con and word spreads quickly.

The Golden Rule of "do unto others" always works best in business.

The first rule of making money is adding value.

Find a large and expanding marketplace that has a need, a want or a desire (problem).

Confirm that this group not only has a problem but a desire to fix it.

Satisfy that desire by supplying the product or service that fixes their problem.

It's not rocket science, but sadly every person trying to get rich quick tends to overlook this basic law of long term wealth creation and true success.

Once again, the word legitimate is key.

All true success is built on honesty. Anything not built on truth must eventually fail.

In the words of Norman Vincent Peale, "no wrong thing ever turned out right".

And finally,

Attitude beats aptitude every time. Success in business can take a very long time. The number one reason so many businesses fail is because they don't persevere long enough to break through and see the results.

You must develop a very clear, sharp emotional goal that you want to achieve via your business;

Have a step by step action plan to achieve it;

Surround yourself with successful people who've got positive results in the same or similar fields in the past (or present);

Develop the mindset of the successful person you want to be. These thoughts and attitudes need to become your personality, your new habits so you don't quit and fail like almost everybody else.

There's so much more to share with you but we just don't have the space.

I sincerely trust this is helpful.

Warmly,

Slav

PS: Success comes to those who work smarter, not harder. "Working hard" is what our parents and grandparents were taught, and honestly, look where it got most of them.

PPS: A final word... always give your customers more in value than you ever ask in price and you will be rich and successful beyond your wildest imagination.

With the right appearance, you can make good money in sales with no or little college education, better type sales with degrees. Sales is always the best paying profession, but they are also more volitile and have to go between jobs often.
If I could go back in time, I would try to get the right background education to make sure I could get into a dental hygenist school. It's only two years and they start out making what pharmacists make. If you must go 4 years then do the pharmacist thing, unless you have some buring desire. But also get some artistic outlet, just in case things get worse than you can imagine. If you have lots of money, start your own business and don't go to college. You don't have to go to college to run your own business. If you can sing, that would be a nice profession. Or dance. Open a cpffee/ice cream shop in a small town. Be creative. Create your dream.

Being a restaurateur would do some magic... if you are very good at your culinary skills. I would also doubly agree with Slav's views.
All the best for your bright future!
