Question about eBAY??

Are there people really making a living off of selling stuff on eBay?
I have bought 2 things off eBay, but I've heard of people making good money? Is this true or would I be opening myself up to a scam or false investment?

yes, depends on what youare sellign on eBay.

take the example with the bubble wrap., there is a woman on eBay who made a gigantic business from scratch just selling bubblewrap. she figured otu that people on eBay needed to wrap their stuff before shipping to buyers, and little by little, her business grew and grew. now she is making **** loads of cash, selling bubblewrap by the tractor trailer each week. but examples like that are rare. here's her story in time magazine

also there are bums out there who all they do all day is answer internet ads on freecycle and craigslist, scam generous ppl of their free stuff, telling the donor his/her family is poor, or needy when in fact the person is not, and is just a scam to sell their stuff on eBay for easy cash.

here are some tips for the ebay seller.

Very few. Most lose money, but it is like a giant flea market, people selling their old junk that they would have tossed anyway.

yes

Yeah there are people that making a living off ebay. But we are talking hardcore selling. They go through at least one hundred transactions a day, all their time is spent in front of a computer screen or at the post office.

You can see how many items a person has sold by their feedback, and many people have sold thousands of items.

It's logical that people could make a living selling items on eBay.

On occasion, there are scams, or situations where a buyer might not pay, or a seller might not deliver, however, they get bad feedback, and if you pay with paypal, it minimizes your risk.

The trick would be to determine what you wanted to sell on eBay, and finding a way to buy those items so you could sell them for a profit.

You could browse eBay to see what types of items sell the most.

E bay is a way of making a living; however you better know your stuff. Example make sure of your descriptions and have a good photo that shows your item. You need to have enough on your shipping to cover your costs not just boxes and tape but the cost to ship and your time to take it to the PO or UPS. I made enough to pay for my wife's cruise ticket in 3 months. It is hard work but any thing worth while is just that.

There are people making money on Ebay... some are making a lot of money while others are making a little. Ebay is a business and you get out of a business what you are willing to put into it. I've done well part time with just little things while others are using Ebay as a medium for advertising and sales of higher profit items. If you see Power Sellers, you can pretty much be assured they are making money. Why would anyone have sold thousands of items if it wasn't profitable??? All you have to do is try it and see how it works for you and the products that you want to sell.

I knew a girl who would buy things that people mis-spell when they are listing them: like "dimonds" instead of "diamonds". Then she would relist them with the right name and they would sell for higher because people who are searching for stuff usually spell it right. Made a nice little profit and she didn't even really sell anything that was her's.

Yes there are many making a killing on eBay selling and one of the major factors involved are what they are charging buyer's for postage and handling. Postage rates are high but they twist wording in their postage comments to trick the buyer to believing the package is being mailed at the best rates but actually are mailed the cheapest and they charge the highest postage.
But if your interested in trying to make some money and want to try it, give it a shot as it's fairly easy to do and there are many sellers that will be more then glad to assist you with any questions you may have. Good Luck
