At Retirement, what now?

My dad will retire next year but has put no money aside for this, he has contacted his workplaces in the past and will recieve a total of US$120 per month, which is basically nothing in my third world economy. What investment steps (or other) can he take to make this money into more?

Sounds like he can't afford to retire. Unless you are going to support him, I suppose he'll have to keep working.

Too late.

He will likely get social security - a lot more than $120/month.

No idea what you are talking about with the third world economy, but moving to the third world is one option - where his money will go further.

Another option is keep working.

He could talk to a financial advisor and get an idea on how the money he is making now can work for him more but at this point it is almost to late. He may have to work longer and really stretch his Social Security and income. Good Luck.

sorry to say == your dad like so many folks did not plan for the future -- does he have to retire -- he might just be better off to keep on working!!!!
