What will be the best investment while in college? |
I'm not rich at all but I will be working. I just wanted some of that money to go towards something that could be beneficial after I got out of school. My friends and I bought a small house when we were sophomores. We paid less than rent, and now it's paid for. The money that we make from renters now goes into an account that we all split when we go to Vegas for march madness. NOT a car! make sure your credit cards are paid off right away... and make sure your student loans are paid off. After that, you could put extra money in a CD, earning 5% interest, (not that much, but you can't take it out for a while, which is good), and maybe have enough for a down payment on a house when you get out of college so you don't have to throw away money on rent. my friend buy land. I can not say this enough. If there is one thing on this planet that is not being made anymore it is land. The good lord is not going to make any more. having that said with the continued increase in population of the world the price of land will only go up up up!!! Don't buy a house or land. Just think of all the hidden costs associated with that (real estate/transaction fees). Your job will be your best investment because when you graduate you will have a big advantage over another candidate because you have work experience and a degree. i would suggest a good mutual fund. many get gain 10-20% a year. Since you are in college you can afford to take a little risk with your money, also they are much easier to manage then individual stocks. check out yahoo finances eduaction section and learn a little about them do some research then invest. let that sit for 30 years and you'll be rolling i dough my friend. Hi, i recommand you a good and basic tutorial for investing. it covers all Issues related to your Investing and everything around it. |
