What investments have you found gets you a better return on your money?

I have my money spread out in many places. I am in 5 mutual funds each of which has been doing excellent in earnings return. Equity Divers is perhaps the best of the 5 constantly producing results. I also invest in the stock market myself and again I am spread out over several sectors. I have the standard staples such as Exxon, Home Depot, Microsoft, and the all do well at keeping up with the dividends. Exxon has split a few times for me. I also keep small amounts in smaller companies and have been lucky so far no losers, of course no real big winners to retire on either.

Solid and safe mutual funds like Dodge & Cox Balanced (DODBX), Oakmark Equity & Income (OAKBX), Fairholme (FAIRX), and Vanguard Wellesley (VWINX) in my opinion.

I have done well with energy stocks, HCSG the nations leading health care linen provider has returned over 400%. I've played refining stocks VLO, TSO, SUN buy in the winter and sell in the summer for huge gains. In general, look for undervalued safe companies that pay a dividend. Now CTAS; JNJ; ETP; SUG; DVN; CVX are some undervalued plays.

If you don't have much time or knowledge to invest in stock, then Unit trust / mutual fund is another good one for you, because it manage by professional funds manager
