How do/did Parises get their money?

They own a hotel empire, obviously. I mean, do they get the actual cash from their stock owndership of the Hilton hotels? Most billionaires (with some exceptions - JK Rowling,Spielberg) are rich only from their stock ownership and some investments, I assume. Does Hilton get his money from his stock?

The initial great wealth primarily came from stock, after all Conrad Hilton was the founder of the hotel chain. His descendants then inherited a great deal of wealth from his estate. (of course there are also many side businesses generating riches).
