Whats a good website to start my own money-making blog?

is there any sort of investment involved, and how much and how often do you collect money from it?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. I have a money making blog that I created myself and I set it up through blogspot.com. I collect from google adwords on it from people clicking on the links and I make income when people join the various sites I'm a member of. If you want, you can look at mine and see if it's something like you want. Blogspot is really user friendly. I had never blogged before and it was really easy to find my way around and figure out how to do what I wanted with it.

Collecting money from your site would depends a lot on the efforts put in and the amount of revenue models you adopt.
