I want to do a mock stock investment game. Ideas?

I don't want to put any real money in the stock market yet untill I understand it a little more. I would like to do some kind of mock investment game for six months or so and see if I am capable of making money at it. Is there is one out there on the internet? Does anyone know of one any joe schmoe can do?

Good luck, some of us have been quite successful trading stock online, but from what I hear, not everyone is so fortunate. If I had any suggestions they would be to find your niche and stick with it. 6 months may not be enough time to find out what works for you, but if you spend that time studying the fundamentals, and what makes the market tick, you'll have a good foundation to start from.

You should find yourself a good stock screener. I use msn money's screener, among others. Go through all the different criteria for screening stocks and learn what each one is. When you know what each criteria is you'll have a much better idea about how to pick winning stocks.

They provide statistical breakdowns of your account. It does have some frustrating elements at time, but overall it is an excellent site.
