What the best investment for annuity's and is it a good investment?

what type of investment should I take out? and, can you have more than one on it since the person is up in years, she may be dead I was wondering if you could do that, from what I understand it has be lock in for five years. since her trust is loosing money I need to do something for her. do you think this would be helpful?

That depend on several factors. I will give you some advantages and disadvantages of annuity.

Advantage.
Annuity can grow tax defer.
There maybe some living and death benefits that associated with
annuity. Example would be lock in Gain, if you die your investment is guarantee.
In most states, they can't take your money if you get sue.(sp)

Disadvantage.
Expensive
May have to wait until 59 1/2 to get your money out.
Limited choice on what you can invest in.(Sub account)
Long surrender period and penalty.

If you are an average person, annuity may not be right. If you get sue alot and may want protection from law suit, then annuity could be OK.

Annuities are a terrible expensive "investmet" & should not be used at all. They make insurance agents rich, not the buyers. You don't lock money in fir 5 yrs - no need. Get a basic porfolio of stocks & ets & leve it alone until needed. S&P 500 index, Globao, EWA (Australia). & the like. Very inexpensive. Schwab.com easy place to gather it all.
