How do you make money? As your OWN boss? In the U.S.A?

Looking for a way to make money from home THAT DOES NOT INVOLVE the following:

High investment
Telemarketing or cold calling
Pyrimid Schemes or Set up
Babysitting, Pet Sitting
Snow Shoveing, Or Lawn Care
Lemonade Stands
Hosting at home "Party's" ( Party lite etc , Candles, Tupperware etc)

Serious Answers only please as it has become an urgent situation.

I am waiting for my greencard to arrive, and must do work my spouse and I can do together from home as I do not yet qualify for a reg. employment position. ( Bare in mind I am Canadian, Educated, and naturally fluent in english )

For those of you foolish enough to imply I am lazy ...I am CURRENTLY doing the lawn care, snow removal and babysitting avenues.....Thank you

evaluate yourself... no business will work if its not a good match, so look at self, also how is your dedication,motivation, sense of humor, and resolve ...all these will be tested... you are about to embark into a field that nearly 50% fail in the first year-five years..
I suggest go to SBA (Small Business Administration) web site and take their programs, get a mentor.
oh, on the self evaluation, let someone who knows you see it when you are done.. some things will have to be changed (we don't see ourselves so clearly).

Finally, we all knew what we wanted to be when we were 5, sit and recapture that... that is your Bliss. as your business should be a reflection of you.

It's an URGENT matter and you are NOT willing to shovel snow or do lawn care?? Come on... there is no easy money out there if you won't lower your standards... Every answer in the book won't work if you aren't willing to work for it.

get your cdl (commercial driver's license) and become a truck driver. they make .37-.42 cents per mile if they are a team driver (meaning they drive a company truck) and all expenses are paid (fuel, hotels, food, everything to do with the truck). Or you could become an owner/operator. They own and drive their own trucks and usually (if they have a contract with a trucking company) get paid $1.02 a mile. if no contract is present they must buy their own truck/trailer and find goods to haul. you must pay for gas, food, hotels, and everything else, but if you play your cards right you could make a lot of money. i will give you a list of trucking companies and sites so you can do your own research.

I'm not sure how much money you need to make, but Ebay is a great opportunity. Especially if you have a lot of odds and ends around your house that you don't need anymore. Don't bother with all of the "how to" Ebay help guides, a lot of them just state the obvious. The best way to learn is trial and error, and keep an eye out for what other people look for.
Also, you can start studying the stock market. If you are smart and not greedy, you can make little profits at a time once you are confident to start trading. I am still in the 'studying' stage of this... and I am making myself study for a year before I invest a dime... so I really don't have solid advice on that one.
