What are some good investments to put my money into besides an IRA???

I am looking for a place to put about $10,000 and get a good return on it. Any suggestions are welcome...

You seem confused. You can put your money in an IRA and make investments from it just like a regular investment account.

Depending on your risk tolerance, the best investment now would be financing real estate deals. There are tons of foreclosures being sold that need rehab. You put up some money and credit for an investor/partner who does all the work.

The important thing would be partnering with someone who is experienced and knows what they are doing, not someone who just spent $500 on a some seminar that teaches them enough to be dangerous.

If you are risk-averse (like I am) then I would suggest looking into certificates of deposit.
