Several times I've heard of a company with a good find or new technology and risked a little on it. That is the kind of thing that a lot of people think of when they talk of trying to make money in the stock market.

I keep some investment money and then some trading money. Sometimes my trading makes more than my investing money (and I feel like a genius), but sometimes I get it wrong and my trading money deflates like that flat tire I had a couple of weeks ago (when i feel like the idiot that I probably am).
