What is the best way to start a graphic design company and receive funding? Do u need $$$ prior to starting?

I鈥檝e recently gone into freelance and I have my company trademarked and registered in the state. Business is good but somewhat slow. I know if I have more money I could market myself better. I was wondering how I could go about receiving funding to help assist me with getting a location and equipment for employees. Is there someone that has started from rock bottom doing graphic designs and web development that now host a 6 figure plus salary?
