WAMU online savings - Questions?

I'm considering opening an online savings/money market account

with you. I would need clarifications on these questions before
proceeding with the same.

How long will it take for online transfers (ACH) to/from external bank
account (example from Wells fargo/BOA checking accounts)?

Will there be any hold on the funds deposited? if yes how long?

When will the interest start accruing - the day it reaches the savings
account or after the hold period?

Can we deposit checks directly into online savings account in any of
the
physical branch?

ACH's are 2 BUSINESS days after their x-mittal

NO, not if they are done in cash or ACH

The day the funds CLEAR, not deposit..

With WAMU, they advertise that you can walk in to any branch and do business with any of their online accounts....

External transfers to WaMu accounts take much longer than I've experienced with other banks. The transfer date must be at least 2 or 3 business days in the future, and after that, the money is unavailable for 5 more business days, I believe. The interest starts accruing on the transfer date, and that's the date the funds are withdrawn from the source account. I haven't tried transfers out yet.

You can make deposits via ATMs, and I'm pretty sure you can use a teller too (from their FAQ: "Q: Do I have to do all of my banking on the Internet with this account? A: Not at all. Unlike some other bank accounts you can open on the Internet, we don't restrict you to banking online. You're free to visit our financial centers or call our 24-hour customer service area anytime, completely free of charge.")
