What can $5,000 do in the stock market?


I seriously need $15,000 by June. I figured the stock market might be the quickest way do reach my goal but I know nothing about it. I also figured that mutual funds might give me a very small amount of return since the money I have is so little. If not the stock market, what other possibilities do I have to choose from...????
