What are your thoughts of putting most of your money in a money market fund for now?


and waiting to see what comes of the subprimes loans and oil prices. Cash in your mutual funds or ride it out

If you don't have a good idea of where the market is going, then sitting on the sidelines is a good answer. I prefer to see a market direction to invest in.

Capitol preservation is key. Not losing 10% of your money is almost like making 10% on your money.

I'm actually shorting the bad sectors and I'm neutral on the good sectors. I've made some good returns the last few days on the down sectors.

I'd say 5% risk free is hard to beat right now - unless you are willing to go short. Never pays to be a hero in this business.

Not a bad idea. You might also want to invest in other currencies, if the dollar is going to weaken:
