How to calculate the return amount in mutual fund?

How to calculate the return amount in mutual fund?

If you invested a lump sum of X and you now have a balance of Y the formula is:

Y-X/X * time for example is X = 5000 and Y = 5500 and time = 2

(5500-5000)/(5000*2) = 500/10000 = 0.05 or 5%

You can do various thing to calculate returns....but i will sugest make a olnine portfolio on any site like

moneycontrol.com or valueresearch.com
they will send you daily tracker that what is status of your investment

they give returns in terms of % as well as money too
