I want to buy JP Morgan India equity fund(Mutual fund)?

I would not recommend doing so. It is a new fund with no track record. Who knows whether it will be good or bad? So far in its short life it has underperformed the benchmark. Here is the information on where to call and the other pertenent data.

But when investing in mutual funds the only data that you have to go by is their track record. So one should choose a fund with a track record that is good and of a substantial duration.

A fund such as the Magnum Contra would be in my opinion a better bet. It has a long track record and a good track record.
