Is there an ETF or mutual fund that provides leveraged exposure to TIPS (inflation-protected govt bonds)? |
The key is 'leveraged' similar to a number of leveraged ETFs focused on equities eg. ProFunds, Direxion. try a munci fund or bond, hospitals are good but the national trend is education. My personal long term positive contributer is a life insurance annuity. Possibly if you are waiting for the right answer try an internet savings account the yeilds are very high and safe until you find what you want. My personal opinion is that within 18 months the US will be in a currency depression, not enough cash flow all in credit! There is no leveraged fund for Tips. The rate of return on TIPS is so low, that margin costs exceed the potential leveraged gains. Current margin rates are 6.5% for high margin balances ($1/2 million + ) and close to 9% for small margin balances. The best TIPS funds yield 4.55 - 5.5% iShares Lehman TIPS Bond (ticker TIP) |
