If I was in a mutual fund during the 90's and it owned stock in Cendant, is it possible that I could receive

some part of the $3.8 Billion court fraud settlement? How would I get named to collect?

No, you are not a registered owner of Cendant, the mutual fund is. They would have to file and if they get anything back, it will become part of the total return of the fund.
