What is the best preforming mutual fund?

What is the best preforming mutual fund?

You can go to this Morning Star site and get the best performing funds for the past year. It is ProFunds UltraJapan Inv. Unfortunately funds that do the best one year frequently do terribly the next year. You can also get the funds that have done best over the last 3, 5, and 10 years. Unfortunately studies have proven that even funds with good 10 years records have a tendency to underperform the market in the future. The Magellan fund had the best record ~15 years ago, over the last 10 years it has not done well.

go to morningstar's web site. there are different variables to look for. remember to look out for the beta which can create a tax consequence.
Consult a Financial Planner/Consultant, they are usually worth the fee to be free from worry.

Today? Yesterday? Last year? Last 10 years? Tomorrow? In the future?..............

You can invest money to earn 10% a month compounded! This was my sons only hope to buy a house these days. After testing with 100.00 it works, so we invest more, four different options, all 10% a month, "offshore protected investing".
Examples of compounding: 1000.00 after one year: 3130.00.
or, 200.00 after 5 years: 60,000.00
400.00 after 5 years: 121,000.00
Do it, and forget it for 5 years, you'll not be sorry.

You have already received several answers but I will add my 2 cents worth. When you ask for the best performing mutual fund, the question is really not complete. You need to specify a period of time. Last one month, last 3 months, last year, last 3 years, last 5 years, since mutual funds game into existance.

Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, past performance does not guarantee future performance. There is the rub.

During the last 3 mo., all precious metal funds have performed the best, but over the longer terms they have not done too well.

The fund that Yahoo ranks highest on 3 mo return, PMPIX, has performed poorly, even against other precious metal funds over over 3 year span under performing the catagory by 2%. I am taking these results from Yahoo financials. I have no idea whether they are correct or not.

Over the 1 year period the best performing fund was UJPIX, a fund that invests in Japan with 108% return--not bad.

Over the 3 year period, MALTX, a fund that invests in Latin America with a annual return of 66%. Boy, I wish I had owned some of that!!!

Over 5 years, LETRX, a fund that invests in Russia with 47% annual return. Just think of that average 47% over 5 years. 10,000 5 years ago would be worth over 68,000 today.
