How to calculate Net Asset Value of mutual fund? Simply type in the symbol to get Friday's closing price. That is the NAV. The net asset value (NAV) of a mutual fund is identical to the share price. Because mutual fund shares (unlike ETFs) do not trade on the open market, there is no difference between share price and NAV. The mutual fund company determines the NAV of the mutual fund by adding up the market price of all assets (at the end of each business day) and then dividing by the number of shares. |
