Moving 3k from mutual fund to CNR?

I like crn at this price. what are your thoughts.

Company: Cornell Companies:
Symbol: CRN: Price: $23.55/share.
As far as I'm concerned, does not have high enough volume.

Company: Canargo Energy Symbol: CNR:
Price: $.668/share [less than $1/share].
As far as I'm concerned, does not have high enough volume. Been on the decline since July.

When you are trading long enough, you'll discover or it will be taught: stocks with low volume are MORE EASILY controlled by traders with deeper pockets.

Have you ever heard of "THE Golden Rule"? Not the one in the Bible, but the investor's "THE Golden Rule"?
If not, here it is: "THE Person with THE Gold, Rules." Its true.

Personally, I WON'T trade any stock with less than consistent 1.5 million shares per day. I WON'T even look at a stock with a price less than $26.50/share.

If you go to yahoofinance.com, you can do your own research; then make your decisions based on what you discovered.

Personally, I would look at the price and volume. If those criteria met my rules, I would check when the earnings are; whether or not a split was announced; check the news and a few other key points. If all the criteria met my rules, then I might consider the trade. If one or more of my rules were not met, on to the next.

I was taught to find reasons NOT to get into a trade.

Why am I writing this? I don't have any idea what kind of trader you are or are aspiring to become. I don't know what kind of strategy you have in mind.

With those two stocks, you can ALWAYS put on a paper trade - just for fun AND to work on your strategies.

Thanks for asking! I KNOW I gave you A LOT more to think about and do - for yourself.

VTY,
Ron
