If i have mutual fund and i need pay mi taxes but i don't have job how can i close my account or not is smart

How do you have taxes to pay if you don't have a job?

I guess technically you could sell a small portion of your mutual fund to cover the costs, like a few shares. But with the commissions you're right and you might as well sell it all.

As long as the funds are not in a retirement account, you can sell them any time you want to. Depending on the particular fund, you may incur some fees.

You didn't say whether the mutual fund was part of an tax-advantaged (IRA/RothIRA/401k/etc.) account.

If it is, then there are probably penalties in addition to future tax consequences that will make it a bad move. ("Probably" because I don't know how old you are and whether there is some other condition affecting your eligibility.) Plus you are selling while the market is in a down phase.

If it is not in a tax-advantaged account, then the main down side is that you're selling while the market's down.

cut to the chase call you broker and tell him how much you need and have him dump that much of your fund!!!
