What does qouted mutual fund and unquoted mutual fund mean?

What does qouted mutual fund and unquoted mutual fund mean?

Just by plain reading of your question, a quoted mutual fund is a fund which has its units quoted / listed on a recognised stock exchange on regular basis. The unquoted mutual fund is a fund the units of which are not quoted / listed in any recognised stock exchange. Remember, for a mutual fund company units belonging to some of its schemes may be quoted while some may not be.

Listing of units of any particular scheme of a mutual fund make the units more liquid, easy to buy and sell and this is treated a positive aspect from investors' point of view.

Open ended schemes of mutual funds publish their NAVs daily so that any investor can buy or sell their units at their NAV +/- some entry/exit load.
Close ended schemes are not obliged to publish NAVs dialy. They are published periodically and those investors who wish to sell their units before the stipulated time can do so but with some penalty.
And as Mr.Helpaneed said, there are some schemes whose units are listed either on bse or on Nse or on both, which increases their liquidity. For ex. Morgan Stanley and Uti mutual funds listed some of their units on the exchanges.
Here a little has also to be told of ETF or exchange traded funds which track a particular index or sector or commodity and which are also listed on the exchanges hence the name.
Ex.Liquid bees,Nifty bees,Junior Nifty,Gold bees etc.
