How long does it take for bank to fix mutual fund error? |
A friend of mine owes me money and has been putting off paying me back for a week. His newest excuse is he asked the bank to put 50 dollars in his mutual fund, but they put in $500 by accident. He says it can take up to a week or two for the bank to fix this error and all his money is tied up until then. I don't know anything about mutual funds, but doesn't this seem like an unusually long time for the bank to fix a simple mistake, or could my friend be telling the truth? He's trying to put off paying you back. I'm sorry to tell you this, but since when do banks manage mutual funds? |
