Which is a better mutual fund?

Which is a better mutual fund if holding for 10 to 15 years? Janus Venture, or Vanguard global equity fund? Also considering Im a blue collar worker and would not be able to contribute large amounts of money monthly. ( And for those of you who have answered many of my previous questions I thank you!)

10 to 15 years is a long time. Things might change a great deal by then. The Vanguard Global Equity fund is one of my favorite funds. It has a very low expense ratio and what I consider to be a reasonable asset allocation across the world economies. The only drawback is that the minimum investment amount is greater than with most funds, but not too much greater. As has already been mentioned, the Venture fund is closed to new investors. But even if it were not I would still recommend the Vanguard fund over the Janus because its allocation in more global and also among more seasoned companies. The Janus fund invests more in small cap growth companies and is very subject to extreme market corrections.

Well, this is an opinion question, but I would go with the Vanguard Global Equity fund. In the current market, I think a large-cap fund is less risky.

Janus Venture fund is a better allocation for long term investments. It includes a fixed income portion of the portfolio, stocks, and some exposure to foreign markets.

However, the Janus Venture fund currently is listed as closed to new investors- so if you don't own some already, they're not going to let you invest.

The Vanguard Fund also looks good, though it is more stock, less fixed income- so more aggressive. Also more of the fund is internationally based- which could be good or bad.

Both of them are okay.

Honestly, it comes down to fees. Whichever one has the lowest expense ratios will do better. Return has much to with taxes as it does expenses. Anything under 1% is good.
