Foreign telecommunication mutual fund? |
is there a mutual fund that focuses on foreign telecommunications? If there were such a fund it would be more risky than most. First the supposition that it concentrates solely upon foreign telecommunications organizations is limiting the amount of diversification that is possible, basically lowering the reason for a fund in the first place. Second, the foreign portion of your statement, above all others, telecommunications (and utilities) are some of the first industries that are reverted to state control in the case of a change in the political winds. Especially in non-European and first-world nations, I would be leery in investing in such stocks due to the unstable nature of their goverments (no limits on overall government power). |
