Does my Mutual fund p/f and loss depends on NAV i bought it?

I am planning to buy a mutual fund and say when i buy ,it's current NAV is 130.
Does my future earning and losses depend on this NAV ?

Mutual funds are nothing but organisations which collect money from public, pool them and invest in equities or bonds in terms of the objectives. For this, they employ specialists /qualified persons. The value of the shares bought as per the market rate plus the cash not invested, divided by the number of units is the NAV.

If you buy a mutual fund unit at 130, face value of which is only 10 for eg, then all the profit loss will be applicabe for you on the basis of NAV.
Say for eg , if the fund declares 100% dividend, for a person who has bought the unit at 10 he will get rs.10/ you also will get 10. But the first person he would have got the full amount he has invested, but for u it will be only a fraction. Similarly if the nav goes up to 143 for u the appreciation is only 10% whereas for the person who invested at 10 , his appreciation is 1430%

Hence basis for calculations of earning for losses for YOU WILL BE on that NAV only. Similarly for all others too the earning and loss calculations had tobe made on the navs at which they purchased the unit

Simple answer "Yes"..

Yes it is..
Example :

you are buying 100 units at the price (NAV) of 10 / Unit..
10 x 100 = 1000 ( Investment )

if the NAV goes up by 20/unit..
20 x 100 = 2000

2000 - 1000 = 1000 ( return )(p/l)
