Best Vanguard Mutual Fund?? |
I am looking to drop 15 to 30k on a Vanguard Mutual Fund. I am in my mid 40's and will not need this money till retirement. Willing to take risk. Any recommendations?? If you're stuck with/on Vanguard (many other mutual funds have well outperformed them - see morningstar.com / fund screener) here are your best prospects, not too shabby. I wouldn't recommend 1 fund, you need some diversification across sectors/countries: Right now, I would look for a diversified large-cap growth fund where the holdings have international exposure. As long as you have $10k in a fund you won't have to pay any "extra" fees. So you could do as many as 3 if you wanted to spread out and diversify a bit. You could do something broad like S&P500 fund (VFINX), An international fund (VEURX), and maybe a sector specific fund or more conservative bond fund. 50% VTSMX Total Market Index |
