What tax info do I need to start up a small online retail business?

I would guess it depends on the business, but, you really need to talk to an account who will know all the ins & outs for your particular state.

BUT, use a room in your house that its sole function is the business. Mearsure it & you'll be able to claim part of your mortgage / rent / homeowners ins(?).

If you use your car for business, keep a running log of milage start/finish of each trip and # of miles.

Phone - if you can have a seperate phone line, that's better. If not, log you business phones.
