What license or permitt do i need for an online homebased business? |
I live in Orlando, Florida. I will have my own website. i will be doing errands, and virtual assistant work (data entry etc). Online businesses typically do not require to be licensed. Florida does not require online businesses to get a license. But you need your business to be registered (business registration is different from business license). You need an EIN number. Its called Tax Id number. ITS FREE. many firms on the net will charge u. Just type in EIN number on the search engine and tons of sites will come up. Look for the one that ends in .gov when it ends in .gov its a government site. there you will be able to apply for it for free. thats it you need nothing else. UNLESS you are selling to florida customers where they have to pay sales tax, for that you need to get a merchant certificate. I dont live in florida but call your city and they will let u know. Most people start without one. You can go to city hall and get a dba for around $100. |
