Started my own business, its official? now how do i advertise, other than online?

What are good ways to advertise other than online? i've spread out business cards, told everyone i know, and wear my companie's shirt almost everytime i go out. any other methods i can use? we need more work. any help is appreciated.;)

I've started a contracting business with my mother(L.N.S. contracting) and am looking for ways other than online advertising to spread the word for our company. cany ideas or support would be great! thanks!

Tons of options for you. I'm a professional marketing consultant in Austin and try to customize my recommendations to the specific company, its goals, and locality, so I can only give you general information here.

If your business is limited by people who can actually make it there, advertise as specifically local as you can. If your business can have clients anywhere, online advertising on all the free sites is a good idea.

The resources listed below are the best value for the $$ in my area (and some nationally). They might give you ideas of stuff in your area too. If you are based in the US, the last resource I can help you set up if you want. ChrisL @ interskil.com

Call the local cable company and see what it will cost you to have a commercial for your business.

Local newspaper, magazines, radio, tv, mouth-2-mouth...

I just started my own business. It all depends on the type of business really. You were not too clear on it but some things just sell by themselves. Depending on the product or service really, I would say throw that out and the answers will fly in. I have tons of ideas!

Depends on your business, but check out Guerilla Marketing. I am not related to them at all but they will give you some great starting business marketing ideas.

You can advertise on the radio, t.v. & putting flyer's on cars.

Network with individuals from local businesses or larger corporations that are interested in buying your service ... This is the Best way to get steady paying clients!!!

What about an advertisement in a paper? It may be a bit conservative, but reaches a lot of people.
Or - it depends on your business of course - you could contact your business partners directly, go to a company and talk to the responsible person.
Good luck!

Fliers,Billboards,Have an ad posted in the yellow book directory in your area it only costs about $9.00 but, it is really worth it. When people use the Yellow Pages or www.yellowpages.com your ad will be their and you will get major publicity for that.

Other than that I think word of mouth will speak for itself on your business

I wish you the best of Luck on all your endavours!!!!

Local papers will usually provide a free new business write up. Also, see if you can team up with another local company (maybe if you steam clean carpets, you team up with a flooring store) and ask to leave your business cards for their customers that may be interested in your services or merchandise. Radio works well but you have to choose the station carefully and be sure the listening audience relates to your services or merchandise. Also, consider placing a coupon ad in a local savings booklet. Customers love to save money. Even local flea markets and outdoor malls are good, usually you will pay about $10-20 for a booth and you can advertise and hand out coupons, samples, etc. Hope this helps

I co-own a marketing company in the US - we could possibly help you. If you are interested in discussing and possibly building a working relationship (and are in the US), send me an email letting me know you are interested and we can see how we can go from there. triciakos@yahoo.com

there a great article on small business, marketing, sale etc.... that should be able to give you some good ideas

There are many ways to advertise such as word of mouth (its cheap, but has its negative aspects as well), brochures, posters, newspaper, tv, and of course internet.

There is a good website, which offers various advertising options and you set the advertising amount, since it is run by few college students. Please visit http://marketingdreamz.tripod.com/
or contact atmarketingdreamz@yahoo.com

Good Luck!

Compared to offline businesses, the investment required to start an online business is minimal. A popular way of earning money on the internet is by providing information and services. This can be monetised by advertising or charging a subscription. You can also make money online by selling products on auction websites like eBay or through your own website.
