first thing that you'll need is the Jewelry and an online catalogue that customers can see.
then it's as simple as opening an online store and managing your traffic and orders.
Sounds like fun...doesn't it?

1 - Set up a website with your main products. Orders could be taken by phone, so forget about automatized payment and buying system that will cost too much for beginning) - Paypal is ok to accept credit cards

2 - Attract customers with adWords (or Yahoo or MSN)

3 - Put a 1-800 number on your site

4 - Wait for clients !

my sister-in law has a lucrative jewelery Store in Oberlin. She has handcrafted bead work since a tot and has a large line of her own designs.
She recently decided to put her shop on line. the web page is basic having pictures of inside of store and a few pics of her line of jewelery and clothing, and her happy employees..

The absolute first thing you should decide is how you will market the site. From that, all else will follow. Will you use PPC, banner exchanges, forum posts, or some other avenue to get the right people to look at what you have to sell?

Each form of advertising will bring a different type of visitor - each with their own desires and goals. You will not be able to satisfy them all so decide which ones you want to sell to.
