corporates who have commerce as core business normally have very short life - as it is easy to create a parallel (competitive one) -- capital required is meager - IT technology is ever expanding and new establishment cost less.

over a period of time bridging a gap between corporates and customer is extremely difficult - customer base normally shrink over a period of time.

some famous e-commerce corporates gets profit because of advertisement and not from core business.

in other areas creating a healthy competition is extremely difficult.
