How do i get my online business noticed?

I've started an online business, i just wondered if anyone new if there was a good way to advertise it withoutpaying like google u would have to pay if u wanted it under proper search tool....
So wat do i do? any help gratefully recieved.

That being said, some things you can do to attract people are:

1. Get rid of a splash page or intro.
If you have an intro, don't! The first page they should see is what you can do FOR THEM! Give them a reason as to WHY they need to browse through your website.

2. Monthly Newsletter
A big mistake people also do is forget about repeat business! Lifetime clients are worth a lot! Once someone goes to your website, there should be a place where they can sign up for a monthly newsletter that you will send out to them, either to let them know of sales or relevant information coming up.

3. What's in it for me?
Remember, people go to websites because something interested THEM! Even if you are selling a super-duper product, many people do the wrong thing and talk about the product too much. What they fail to do is offer how the product will benefit THEM!

4. Cheap and easy advertising!
Business cards are a great way to network your website. You pass them out when you meet people, and add the website on the business card. By then, you would have talked to people and next time they are online, they will remember your site and visit it.

5. Networking!
A great way to get people interested in services or products you are offering is to link exchange with people in your industry. It's free! And you will get visitors, the RIGHT visitors to your site!
